Network Maintenance SOP

Purpose: To ensure optimal performance and reliability of client and company networks.

Procedure:

  1. Scheduled Maintenance

    • Schedule regular maintenance during low-usage hours to minimize impact on clients.
    • Notify clients at least 48 hours in advance of any planned maintenance.
  2. Network Health Check

    • Perform a comprehensive health check on network components, including routers, switches, and access points.
    • Identify and address any potential issues, such as outdated firmware, hardware degradation, or abnormal data traffic.
  3. Documentation

    • Record all maintenance activities, including any issues found, solutions applied, and future recommendations.
    • Share a summary report with the client if maintenance is performed on their network.
  4. Emergency Maintenance

    • If an urgent network issue arises, prioritize resolving the issue immediately.
    • Inform the client of the emergency maintenance and expected downtime.
